Common Name: Scaly Puller
Distribution: Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific region, from East Africa to the Line Islands, north to the Izu Islands and southern Japan, south to Rowley Shoals and New Caledonia. In Australia recorded from the North West Shelf region of Western Australia, the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea in Queensland south to northern New South Wales.
Ecological Notes: Prefers coral rich areas of seaward reefs and lagoons, often close to shelter. Depth range from 2 to 43 m.
Additional Notes: Greenish grey body, black tips to dorsal, anal and caudal fins, distinct vertical black bar through eye. Feeds on zooplankton in the water column. Grows to 9 cm.
