Distribution: Relatively common throughout the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Members of this Genus are distributed worldwide. In Australia this species recorded from northern New South Wales south to the Victorian border.
Ecological Notes: Colonies found in sheltered or moderately exposed reef, bays and estuaries. Depth to 20 m.
Additional Notes: Bag-like structures with individual zooids arranged in parallel rows on the outside, communal exhalent siphon in the centre. Forms small to large colonies up to 30 cm wide. Individual lobes up to 3 cm tall.
