Cantheschenia grandisquamis (Hutchins, 1977)

Common Name: 
Largescale Leatherjacket
Distribution: 

Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Known from east coast Australia, from Capricorn Group, central Queensland to at least Bass Point in southern New South Wales, including Lord Howe Is.

Ecological Notes: 

Frequents sheltered coastal and offshore reefs, larger coastal estuaries in kelp and weedbeds to a depth of at least 29 m.

Additional Notes: 

Readily identifiable with blue margins to caudal fin and numerous blue spots under chin. Grows to 26 cm.
