Alpheus ochrostriatus
(Karplus, Szlep and Tsurnamal, 1981)

Common Name: Fine-striped Snapping Shrimp

Distribution: Common in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Known from the Red Sea and tropical Western Pacific. Members of the genus recorded from all states of Australia.

Ecological Notes: Associates with a goby, preparing and maintaining shared burrow in sandy rubble. Specimen photographed at 21 m.

Additional Notes: Thin yellow stripes on carapace and abdomen. Seen here with Amblyeleotris ogasawarensis also known to associate with A. steinitzi and Amblyeleotris wheeleri. Specimen in photo around 50 mm in length.
