Distribution: Abundant in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distributed throughout the Indian and Pacific Ocean, from the Red Sea to South Africa and Japan south to Kermadec and Lord Howe Islands. In Australia the genus is found from around Perth in Western Australia across the north of the continent south to central New South Wales on the east coast, including Elizabeth and Middleton Reefs and Lord Howe Island.

Ecological Notes: Wide ranging habitat including lagoons, upper reef flats, shallow and deeper slopes.

Additional Notes: These photographs are possibly of Acropora nasuta, colonies of which are irregularly corymbose (short fused horizontal branches with short vertical branchlets), with tapering branches. Radial corallites are usually in neat rows. Colours variable from cream to pale brown with blue branch tips, or greenish brown with purple or blue corallites.
