With a total of 22 participants from SURG, Jetty Dive and OzFish split into 5 teams we managed to cover 5 locations: North Wall Beach, North Wall, Jetty Beach, Gallows and South Wall.
In total we collected 2230 items of litter with the most amount of rubbish removed from the Gallows site. The item in greatest abundance overall was cigarette buts, we collected over 500. The category that we removed the most of was hard plastic, which accounted for ~ 42% of all litter collected.
This event was so successful we plan to make these events an annual occurrence.
