Distribution:

Uncommon in the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Distribution throughout the tropical West Pacific region. In Australia recorded from northern Western Australia, across the tropical north, Queensland south to northern NSW.

Ecological Notes:

Inhabits coral reef feeding in sandy rubble. Ranges over sandy areas at night. Found to 30m depth.

Additional Notes:

Feeds on small fish and invertebrates. Grows to 90cm length.
