Distribution:  Probably common in the SIMP but rarely seen. Distributed throughout the Indo-West Pacific region generally.
Ecological Notes:  Nocturnal animals spending daylight hours buried in mud or sand.
Additional Notes:  Carnivorous scavengers that prey on other molluscs as well. A member of the family commonly known as Dog Whelks. Grows to at least 6cm.
