| Distribution: Uncommon in the SIMP. Distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific region including the Galapagos Islands and Central America. | |||
| Ecological Notes: Usually found at 10-15m depth in coral rubble though local specimen found at 18m at South Solitary Island. Recorded as having an association with red sponge, which may be a food source. | |||
| Additional Notes: The mantle and foot of this cowrie are coloured a bright reddish orange. Papillae are very short and white, see PROS0008-1. The shell has a bluish grey dorsal surface crossed by three interrupted brown bands. This species is known to drop its foot by the process of autotomy when disturbed. Grows to 40mm. | |||
