| Distribution: Specimens have been recorded from the offshore islands in the SIMP. Probably at the southern end of its range on the east coast of Australia. Distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific region with many geographical colour variations. | |||
| Ecological Notes: Found under rocks and in crevices on shallow reefs. | |||
| Additional Notes: The dorsal surface of the shell is tan with white spots in a distinctive seive pattern. The spots are visible through the thin red-orange mantle which has small papillae of the same colour. When disturbed the rear part of the foot may detach (autotomy). Grows to 40mm. | |||
