Distribution:  Found throughout the SIMP. Seasonally very common in less accessible rock pools. Ranges throughout the Indo Pacific region.
Ecological Notes:  Found in tidal rock pools and occasionally shallow reef. Usually concealed under rocks and in crevices. Often found in same habitat as C. moneta.
Additional Notes:  The ivory or yellowish coloured shell with its bright orange ring om the dorsal surface gives this cowrie its common name - "Yellow ringed cowrie". See also PROS0001-1. The mantle is grey/black with a fine delicate pattern. Papillae are short and yellow/grey in colour. Egg masses are white. Grows to 30mm..
